Thrifted Mirror Redo

Found a mirror for my master bedroom from Salvation Army Thrift Store for $4.99. The mirror is about 2 feet wide and 2.5 feet tall. I first started to paint the mirror with a brush, but stopped and decided to spray paint instead. Due to the detailing and curved frame, the spray painting process made the whole painting process easy and faster. The mirror was removed for the painting process. Very happy with the result.

New Bed:Tufted Wingback Bed

Our bedroom has been the last room on our to do list. At first, I wanted a poster/canopy bed. But realized that it would just overwhelm my small bedroom. I then found a fabulous headboard at Sears, but for the price... I could not reason to buy it. After window shopping through Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, I made up my mind. With inspiration from Restoration Hardware, I was on a mission to find my bed at a reasonable price. I searched and googled, then came upon a Skyline Bed from Amazon. Instead of buying it from Amazon, I went straight to the source at www.wayfair.com. It was priced lower, and I can get 3% back towards another purchase plus free shipping. I also googled online coupons, was able to find a code that allowed me to take an additional 10% off! YahooO! I'm not a big fan of matching bedroom sets, so buying just the bed was fine with me. I wanted something neutral and classic. Compared to similar beds at the name brand stores, I saved well over 50% off! I was unsure of buying it online, unseen. But it was worth it. I love my new bed! It is very sturdy and easy to assemble! Looks more than what I paid. Shipping was very fast. I placed my order on 1/11/12 and received it on 1/21/12. Now off to new bedding! My bedroom is slowly coming together and I love it! Here is a sneak peek.

After Christmas Sale: H&M

After completing some last minute Christmas shopping, I came across a sign at H&M stating another scratch off give away for the first 100 customers the day after Christmas. H&M did the same scratch off  on Black Friday, we missed out on it. But we made sure to make it this time. We waited since 5 am, with the store opening at 8 am. Honestly, the wait was not that bad. There was hardly a crowd, Black Friday was 10 X worse. So, I was one of the lucky ones, received a $200 shopping spree and a friend received $300. We decided to split since we came in this together... $250! It all had to be spent that day... Honestly, I always thought that it would be easy, but it really wasn't. Spent a little over 2 hours shopping. Here is my haul.

AND, Happy New Year! Hosted a NYE'S party at my place, it was a ton of fun, but a whole lot of puking, and tons of left overs. I was dreading the clean up, but it actually wasn't that bad.

Book Case Rescue

Happy Holidays all! It has been a crazy few weeks! All I have been doing this week is clean, clean, clean. But I'm feeling good about all of my progress! Put the Christmas decor away and getting ready for our New Year's Eve Party... Not sure if I plan on decorating yet, but will definitely be taking pictures!

My book case has been in need of a rescue for quite some time. It has become my junk spot, hiding it behind my chair as seen in photo above... Since I have rearranged my living room and took down all the Christmas decor, I could not ignore it any longer. So I decided to stop by my favorite local thrift store. I love that I spent under $13 and was able to make a huge impact on the look of my bookcase. So many great finds, I had to say no to a larger round plant pot and a really cool vase, I didn't want to overdo it. But so far, I'm loving it!

Old Navy 75% off all adult sweaters

Last Sunday, Old Navy rolled out a huge sale.  From 12-5 all adult sweaters were 75% off! I went around 4 pm and there were still many selections and sizes to choose from. I like to wear my sweaters loose, and am always scared of shrinking sweaters so I always buy a medium or +. And if you know me well, you would know that I love cardigans! Even in the summer time, I always have one on. I bought 4 sweaters for myself, 2 for the significant other and saved over $126! 6 tops for $54.17! :)

Also, just got an email from Banana Republic today, all items are 50% off + 15% off over $100+ purchase coupon. Starts Friday at Factory outlet stores only! HMMM, tempting, but that would mean I would have to drive at least 45 minutes to the closest outlet... We will see. But I can't wait to hear/see what everyone bought/will buy on black Friday!

~Have a great Thanksgiving all~

I love a bargain!

Stopped by my local thrift store to see if the ottoman I had spotted last week was still there and sadly, it's gone... Oh well, should not have waited. It would have been the perfect piece for my closet. BUT, I did snoop around and decided to add to my Christmas decoration. I could not resist the great deals! All blue tags were 50% off. I am very happy with my purchase, especially with the trees, I have never found any at these prices... Total purchase for today: $12.26!!!! YAY! Break down: $.99 gold tree, $2.99 each mirror trees, $.99 each gift wrap at 90 sq ft. $1.50 and $.50 for Christmas houses... I love decorating for the holidays:)
I also noticed that this store carries appliances! The stainless steel fridge for $299 and the dryer and washer for $69 each.
What have you noticed in your local thrift store?
