Book Case Rescue

Happy Holidays all! It has been a crazy few weeks! All I have been doing this week is clean, clean, clean. But I'm feeling good about all of my progress! Put the Christmas decor away and getting ready for our New Year's Eve Party... Not sure if I plan on decorating yet, but will definitely be taking pictures!

My book case has been in need of a rescue for quite some time. It has become my junk spot, hiding it behind my chair as seen in photo above... Since I have rearranged my living room and took down all the Christmas decor, I could not ignore it any longer. So I decided to stop by my favorite local thrift store. I love that I spent under $13 and was able to make a huge impact on the look of my bookcase. So many great finds, I had to say no to a larger round plant pot and a really cool vase, I didn't want to overdo it. But so far, I'm loving it!

Old Navy 75% off all adult sweaters

Last Sunday, Old Navy rolled out a huge sale.  From 12-5 all adult sweaters were 75% off! I went around 4 pm and there were still many selections and sizes to choose from. I like to wear my sweaters loose, and am always scared of shrinking sweaters so I always buy a medium or +. And if you know me well, you would know that I love cardigans! Even in the summer time, I always have one on. I bought 4 sweaters for myself, 2 for the significant other and saved over $126! 6 tops for $54.17! :)

Also, just got an email from Banana Republic today, all items are 50% off + 15% off over $100+ purchase coupon. Starts Friday at Factory outlet stores only! HMMM, tempting, but that would mean I would have to drive at least 45 minutes to the closest outlet... We will see. But I can't wait to hear/see what everyone bought/will buy on black Friday!

~Have a great Thanksgiving all~

I love a bargain!

Stopped by my local thrift store to see if the ottoman I had spotted last week was still there and sadly, it's gone... Oh well, should not have waited. It would have been the perfect piece for my closet. BUT, I did snoop around and decided to add to my Christmas decoration. I could not resist the great deals! All blue tags were 50% off. I am very happy with my purchase, especially with the trees, I have never found any at these prices... Total purchase for today: $12.26!!!! YAY! Break down: $.99 gold tree, $2.99 each mirror trees, $.99 each gift wrap at 90 sq ft. $1.50 and $.50 for Christmas houses... I love decorating for the holidays:)
I also noticed that this store carries appliances! The stainless steel fridge for $299 and the dryer and washer for $69 each.
What have you noticed in your local thrift store?

Salvation Army thrifting

Went home with a brand new pillow for $2.50 and a heavy-duty stapler for $3.99. The pillow is a start to my bedroom remodel! Excited... I have tomorrow off, so will start planning...

I was also surprised at how much tools they carry! From stud finders, wrenches, saws, etc...

The blue couch in person, is very vibrant... It's perfect for a feminine vintage living room.

Vegas

Vegas was fun, but I don't think I'll ever go back again. If you love to party and you love casinos... It's for you. We did catch one show, Jabbawockeez. Wanted to see The Lion King, but its coming to Minneapolis so going to that instead. Walked a lot, ate a lot, It was a good time away...

Target

Whenever I shop at Target, I always make sure to check the end caps for clearance items. I get such a thrill not paying full price! ;) Fall decor are on sale now, mainly 50% off. Nothing screamed out to me, so I didn't go home with any. You see the ice-cream sandwich and pizza pillows? Lol

Cole Haan purse

Loving this purse by Cole Haan, $398... Simple and chic. But for that price, it will have to wait. Need to buy all 4 new tires by winter time for my car. It could hardly go up my driveway last winter! I have also been eyeing this headboard at Sears. My bedroom is lacking decor... I have been pushing that aside for one of my last projects.

Shopping and some finds:)

I totally adore this color combination! Such a rich red color and not too overpowering with the grey. We will eventually be replacing our siding in the next summer or two and I have been dreaming of grey siding and white trim... But the current brick we have is throwing me off... But after seeing this work so well together... I may just have to take a gamble:p

Bought these cheapo flats at Target last week for $12! Love, Love!

I have been waiting all summer for my hibiscus to finally bloom and here they are!:) notice my buddah head in the garden? Does it look scary or is it actually working well in there?

Stopped by at Michaels and was peeking through their sale items. Found this awesome poster for $3! I felt like I was stealing it at this price! It is 26X36!!!! Now just have to find a frame for it, that's on my hunt list.

Also at Micheals, their "Mediterranean" collection is all 50% off... making way for their seasonal Halloween and Christmas items. I could not decide which cute birds to take home. Ended up with 3 blue and the ivory.

Stopped by Goodwill and found my childhood couch! It was in such good shape, hardly used at all... $35... I had to sit and reminisce for a moment:)

Then stumbled upon this gorgeous table for $40!!!!! I had to stop myself from not buying it... I don't need it, but oh the possibilities! :)

What I did end up buying are these two hutch ends. Priced at $19.99 each!!! I could not believe it! I plan to use them as part of my entertainment center for my unused living room. Just some minor scratches, but the big boo boo is on the top right molding... It's fixable with wood putty and stain, that's my Sunday plan.
